Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today flagged off a fleet of 440 buses, which will be operated in different parts of the state. She flagged off the buses from the state secretariat here, an official release said.
The 440 buses, estimated to cost ₹100.18 crore, among others, include vehicles meant for 23 new routes here besides those for Coimbatore, Salem and Tirunelveli. As many as 18 ‘Small Buses’ meant for hilly areas were also flagged off by the Chief Minister, it said.
