Clearances have been received for setting up three fishing harbours and a fishing landing centre under Centrally-sponsored programmes, Minister for Fisheries K. Babu said here. This was decided at a high-level meeting held at the Union Ministry of Agriculture in New Delhi on Thursday, he added. The new fishing harbours would come up at Arthunkal in Alappuzha district; Thanoor in Malappuram; and Vellayil in Kozhikode. The new fish landing centre has been proposed for Munakkakadavu in Thrissur district. Administrative sanctions will be accorded for all these and tendering completed at the earliest, the minister said.
