Industrialist Sanjiv Goenka, Chairman of the RP – Sanjiv Goenka Group, has been awarded the Banga Bibhushan, the highest civilian honour from the West Bengal government. Goenka, will be the first industrialist to get the award. A brain child of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the Banga Bibhushan awards were instituted by the State government in 2012. The previous editions of the awards saw a host of actors, celebrities and singers bagging them.
