Singapore-based Spini, a start-up that plans to tap into opportunities in the online marketplace, has set up shop in Chennai. According to a press release, Spini has raised S$1 million from Walden International to fund its entry into India and expand its presence here. It hopes to connect buyers and sellers with the right information at the right time.

People post information related to a customer planning for a purchase and salesperson bid for and buy those as leads. Spini helps users make money on information they hold. The salesperson gains a qualified lead with higher chances of closing the sale.

While the app has just been launched in Chennai, the company is planning to cover more cities soon. The app also provides a wide range of features including quality check, anonymity, private chat facility, easy to use payment process and reverse auction-based bidding that help users to monetise information and connections.

The start-up established in Singapore in 2014 is spread across Chennai and Bangalore. Chennai is the first city where the app is being launched.
