The State government has notified the Tamil Nadu Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Rules 2017 that prohibits developers from promoting their property in media without registration.
The latest rule states that promoters should not be involved in advertising, marketing, booking, selling and purchase of plot, apartment or building without registering the real estate project with Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TNRERA).
The new regulation also mandates that builders and developers mention the TNRERA Registration Number while advertising in media for their projects.
For projects completed prior to implementation of the rules i.e. June 22, 2017, the details of Completion Certificate or application made with the respective Planning Authority to this effect shall be mentioned.
