Tamil Nadu Health Secretary Beela Rajesh, who has been in the thick of action ever since coronavirus infection started in the State, has been shunted out. Senior IAS officer J Radhakrishan, Secretary of Revenue Administration, will hold additional charge as Health Secretary. This move comes at a time when the State and Chennai, in particular, has been seeing high levels of infection. No reason was given for this sudden transfer.
Radhakrishnan, who was made Special Nodal Officer for Greater Chennai Corporation, has also been coordinating with collectorates of Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram and Tiruvalur to contain the spread of the virus.
Beela Rajesh has been posted as Secretary for Commercial Taxes and Registration department which was under the additional charge of the industry secretary N Muruganandam, says an order issued by Chief Secretary K Shanmugam.
