Coronavirus positive cases in Tamil Nadu increased by 2,532 in the last 24 hours to touch 59,377. With 1,438 patients discharged today, the number of active cases stands at 25,863.
On Sunday, 53 persons died to take the total number of fatalities due to the virus infection to 757.
In Chennai, 1,493 persons were infected followed by Chengalpattu with 121 and Thiruvallur with 120 cases; Cuddalore 90 and Vellore 87 cases. The rest of the cases were distributed among most of the other districts, including Madurai, Kancheerpuram, Thiruvannamalai and Trichy.
A total of 31,401 samples were tested today.
