A knife-wielding man killed two people and injured 12 in a north-eastern Chinese city shopping mall on Sunday afternoon, state media reported.
One person died in the Jinhuacheng mall and another later at Yanbian hospital in the city of Yanji, the Xinhua news agency reported.
Police arrested a 25-year-old suspect, Cui Zhenyu, of Korean ethnicity. Police told Xinhua that Cui’s family informed them he had been suffering from depression before the alleged stabbing spree in the Jilin province city about 330 km from the border with North Korea.
