Islamic State’s masked executioner Mohammed Emwazi, better known as ‘Jihadi John’, has reportedly been killed in a US drone strike in Syria that British Prime Minister David Cameron described as an act of self-defence.
Cameron refused to confirm the death of the Briton who has appeared in gruesome propaganda videos. The US said the American military was 99 per cent certain that Emwazi had been killed in a drone strike.
Emwazi, who speaks English and is believed to be born in Kuwait, is frequently seen in hooded hostage videos carrying out violent beheadings.
