The Dutch accreditation council, Raad voor de Certification (RvC) has decided to grant accreditation to the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) to assess and certify quality management systems for the ISO 9000 series. The Indian Register Quality Systems, a department of the Indian Register of Shipping, was the first Indian agency to receive RvC accreditation.
