Lok, a leading impact investment firm, has invested in Siddhi Vinayak Agri Processing, a potato value chain player, in a Series B round. This is Lok’s first deal in the agriculture sector. Aspada Investments, an early-stage venture fund, also participated in this round. SV Agri, an end-to-end potato supply chain management company that works with over 3,000 farmers across India, will use the money to expand its procurement operations, scale up production of its own brand of potato seeds, strengthen its engineering vertical, invest in team building and bolster its technology platform.

CarTrade gets ₹950-cr funding

CarTrade, a leading online auto classifieds platform, has raised ₹950 crore led by Temasek of Singapore and March Capital, a leading global venture investment firm, with participation from existing investor Warburg Pincus. CarTrade will use the money to diversify and strengthen its offerings for consumers and dealers.

Unicorn India invests in Roder

Unicorn India Ventures, an early-stage venture capital fund, has made its first investment in an inter-city on demand cab aggregator Roder, started by three IIT Kharagpur alumni. Roder will use the ₹1.6-crore investment, from Unicorn and a clutch of investors, to expand the market and acquire customers.

IFMR Investments’ long-term fund

IFMR Investments, a wholly-owned subsidiary of IFMR Capital, has launched a ₹250-crore debt fund dedicated to provide working capital for financial inclusion enterprises. The investors in the fund include leading insurance companies and IFMR Capital. The fund will offer debt to organisations that are active in sectors such as affordable housing finance, small business loan finance, vehicle finance, agri-business finance and micro-finance.

KartRocket raises $6 million

KartRocket, an e-commerce enabler, has raised $6 million in a round of funding led by Bertelsmann India Investments. Existing investors Nirvana Digital Investment Holding Co, 500 Start-ups and Beenext have also participated in this fund-raising round.

Saral Designs raises angel funding

Saral Designs, a start-up that makes menstrual hygiene products, has raised angel funding from investors in the Powai Valley, including Farooq Adam (Founder, Fynd) and Ambi Parameswaran, former CEO of FCB Ulka Advertising.
