Tonbo Imaging, a designer and manufacturer of advanced night vision imaging systems for defence, surveillance and transportation safety markets, has raised about ₹110 crore ($17 million) in a Series B growth capital round, from Walden Riverwood Ventures, Qualcomm Asia Pacific, Edelweiss and existing investor Artiman Ventures.
This Series B round is touted as one of the largest private venture investments in the Indian defence industry and one of Silicon Valley’s largest investments in defence technologies. Tonbo will use the money to ensure rapid adoption of the night vision imaging technology in defence, vehicle safety and other autonomous applications.
