Mygubbi.com raises ₹17 crore
Mygubbi.com, a Bengaluru-based home décor and furnishing start-up, has raised about ₹17 crore ($ 2.5 million). Twenty angel investors, including Vipul Parekh, co-founder, Big Basket; Ananda Kallugadde, co-founder, NeoBytes; and, Rajesh K Murthy, EVP, Infosys, participated in this seed round. Mygubbi is present in Bengaluru and is in the process of expanding to Mumbai, Pune, Mangaluru and Coimbatore.
₹3.5-cr funding for SmartVizX
SmartVizX, a virtual reality solutions start-up, has raised ₹3.5 crore from the Indian Angel Network, Stanford Angels and Entrepreneurs India. It will use the money to expand its R&D facility and launch a R&D centre in Bengaluru. The New Delhi-based firm builds immersive technology solutions using virtual reality for real estate and other industries, which makes the property buying experience on a par with an actual site visit.
Matrix Partners invests in Finomena
Matrix Partners India has invested an undisclosed amount in fin-tech start-up Finomena. Founded by a team of IIT and Stanford graduates, Finomena is a big-data driven platform that uses proprietary algorithms to evaluate the credit-worthiness of borrowers such as college students or young working professionals to buy phones, laptops and other consumer electronics online. Most banks and NBFCs do not lend to this segment because there is no appropriate credit history and the high operational costs involved.
Dunzo raises ₹4.35 crore
The Bengaluru-based Dunzo, which creates direct market linkages between small merchants and consumers for completing a range of everyday tasks, has raised about ₹4.35 crore ($650,000) from Aspada and Blume Ventures, along with prominent angel investors, including Rajan Anandan and Sandipan Chattopadhyay.
Zone Startups invests in vPhrase
Ryerson Futures Inc and the Chokhani Family Office have together invested in vPhrase, an artificial intelligence enabled data analytics and insight delivery platform, that went through the Zone Startups India accelerator programme. Mumbai-based Venture Catalysts also participated in the funding round.
