Warburg invests in logistics firm

Global private equity firm Warburg Pincus has invested about ₹830 crore ($125 million) in logistics firm Stellar Value Chain Solutions. Stellar intends to provide integrated logistics solutions, including multi-user warehousing, primary and secondary distribution, e-fulfilment and cold storage.

BigDeal in pre-Series A round

BigDeal, an exclusive student deals platform, has raised an undisclosed amount from EVC Ventures in a pre-Series A round. BigDeal’s platform connects students and merchants, providing discounts and deals for students. BigDeal is live in 25 colleges in India and the US and has deals from more than 500 merchants. It aims to generate 1,000 transactions per day with 80 per cent repeat users, within the next four months. It will use the money to expand the team, improve technology and on customer and merchant acquisition.

Amplus’s Fund achieves first close

Ahmedabad-based Amplus Capital, part of the Lalbhai group, has announced first close of ₹200 crore its second real estate fund Amplus Realty Fund– II. The fund’s targeted corpus is ₹300 crore. The fund will invest ₹20-40 crore in early-stage mid-size residential projects. The first fund, of ₹135 crore raised in 2013, invested in eight projects in Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune and Ahmedabad. It returned 50 per cent of the capital within three years.

Modasta receives ₹10 crore

Modasta, an India-focussed health content portal founded by technology and medical professionals, has raised about ₹10 crore ($1.5 million) from a consortium of Mauritius-based wealthy investors. The portal has over one million registered users within three months of launch, has multi-lingual content curated by Indian doctors.

Revo raises ₹10 lakh

Revo International, an Ahmedabad-based start-up, has raised about ₹10 lakh ($12,500) through global crowd funding. The venture, which makes performance and fitness apparel, has developed smart performance shorts under the brand name TrueREVO.

Borosil buys 60.3% in Klasspack

Borosil Glass Works has bought a 60.3 per cent stake in Klasspack Pvt Ltd for an undisclosed amount. A majority of the acquisition was by primary infusion into the company, there was a smaller secondary purchase of shares. Borosil is a leading specialty glass manufacturer, while Klasspack, a closely-held company, is a leading manufacturer of glass ampoules and tubular glass vials used as primary packaging materials by pharma companies.

Infosys invests $4 m in Israeli co

Infosys has invested $4 million in a Series B round in Cloudyn, an Israeli company, that provides SasS solutions for managing and optimising hybrid, multi-cloud deployments. The solution provides visibility into usage, performance and cost, coupled with actionable recommendations for confident cloud growth.

Sheroes raises ₹12-cr funding

Sheroes, an online career platform for women, has raised ₹12 crore in Series A round led by Lumis Partners with participation from The HR Fund and angel investor Rajul Garg. Existing investor Quintillion Media also participated in this funding round.

Transport on Demand gets ₹1 cr

Ahmedabad-based logistics start-up Transport on Demand has raised ₹1 crore from independent investor Dhruv Taneja. It offers its services in a 200-km radius of Ahmedabad. The aggregator app acts as a platform connecting registered single-owner truck drivers to pick and choose through a bidding process. – Our Bureau
