In a sign of growing consolidation in the on-demand laundry space, Wassup Laundry, an on-demand and dry cleaning brand, has acquired Doormint from its promoters and angel investors. Through this transaction, lead venture capital investors in Doormint – Kalaari Capital and Helion Ventures – will hold equity in Wassup. The Chennai-based Wassup is buying Doormint, which shut down operations in September 2016, for its factory and technology. Doormint had raised about ₹60 lakh from Powai Lake Ventures, a network of angel investors, and about $3 million from Helion and Kalaari.
Doormint is Wassup’s third acquisition. It had previously bought Hyderabad-based laundrette Ezeewash and Mumbai-based Chamak.
In March, Delhi-based PickMyLaundry bought out OneClickWash, with operations in Gurgaon, in an all-cash deal.
