The pharmaceutical industry has two key events lined up this fortnight. On August 29, the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority has its Foundation Day. The NPPA has been active in curbing the price of medicines and the focus now is on how to extend this monitoring to medical devices.
On August 30, at a different congregation, industry stalwarts will share their experiences with first and second generation entrepreneurs, and small and medium sized company representatives. They will also discuss concerns over medicine quality, combination drugs, price and exports.
The event is unique in that it is organised by six pharma associations including the Indian Drug Manufacturer’s Association and the Federation of Pharma Entrepreneurs, besides the association of foreign drugmakers. It is being supported by Pharmexcil.
