Sports earphones are becoming commonplace. One only hopes enough people are putting them to use and exercising. A Bluetooth neckband from SoundLogic has made an entry in a market that is becoming increasingly crowded with such devices. The thick-ish plastic neckband, reminiscent of a few made by LG, sits lightly when worn and has cable extensions with earbuds on either end. These are in-ear and fit quite readily. There are one or two extra ear-tips in the box along with a charging cable — a good thing as phones are moving to USB Type C meaning that their cables can’t double up as earphone charging cables. On each end of the neckband are a few essentials. There’s a little slot for the charging cable to go in, a power button and buttons to change tracks. Also on one end is a solitary button that fires up the virtual assistant you’re using. Pairing with a phone is also straightforward.
The neckband sounds quite acceptable given the price. A tiny bit more muffled and closed up than they should be, they would not be your choice if you’re a pure music lover. But for working out, they do a pretty good job. The earbuds don’t fall out even with jumping around and there was no issue of sweat even in the humid monsoon weather. For anyone looking for a simple workout pair of earphones, they are not bad. These are available on Flipkart at ₹2,499, where SoundLogic says the last batch sold out in a matter of 20 minutes.
