ACC ACC’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director Kuldip Kaura has received a one year extension in his current position till December-end next year.

“We wish to inform you that the Board of Directors has at its meeting held today, December 4, 2013, re-appointed Kuldip Kaura as the Chief Executive officer and Managing Director for a period of one year with effect from January 1, 2014,” ACC said in a communication to BSE.

Kaura holds a degree in mechanical engineering, BE(Hons) from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani.

He has served in senior capacities with various reputable companies including as Vedanta Resources’ CEO and ABB Ltd’s Managing Director.

Kaura had joined ACC in August 2010 as the company’s CEO and MD for a little over three years till December 31, 2013.

The re-appointment of Kaura comes at a time when ACC’s Swiss parent, Holcim, is restructuring its businesses in India.

Holcim had in July announced plans to merge holding firm Holcim India with its unit Ambuja Cements to restructure India operations and as part of the process, Holcim India’s over 50 per cent stake in ACC will go to Ambuja.

Holcim had said then that ACC and Ambuja would continue to operate as separate entities with their respective brands, managements and dealer networks.
