The Coca-Cola Company has elevated Atul Singh to the position of Deputy President, Pacific Group making him the first Indian to hold such a senior operational post at the global level at the beverage company. These changes are effective July 1, 2013. Singh is currently the President and CEO, India and South West Asia Business Unit.

In a statement, the company said in his new role, Singh will now take charge of the Greater China and Korea, besides India and South West Asia Business Units.

“Given the enormous growth opportunities in China and the uniquely competitive beverage landscape, Atul’s focus will largely be on the Greater China and Korea Business Unit, which also includes Taiwan, Mongolia and Hong Kong and Macau. He will continue to report to Ahmet Bozer, President, Coca-Cola International,” according to a company statement.

Singh has been leading the India and South West Asia Business Unit comprising Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the Maldives for about eight years. The company said under his leadership, the India operations had registered 27 consecutive quarters of growth, of which 19 have been quarters of double-digit growth.

The company also elevated Venkatesh Kini as Deputy Business Unit President, India and South West Asia (INSWA) Business Unit.

“In his new role, Kini will have oversight for all the Business Unit’s operations and functional leadership. The entire senior functional leadership of the INSWA Business Unit will now report to Venkatesh Kini. He will continue to report to Atul Singh,” the company said.
