Leading beverage company Coca-Cola has elevated Vamsi Mohan to the position of President, Coca-Cola South Pacific business unit. Sources said that Mohan will succeed Roberto Mercade’ to take over this global role effective January 1, 2018.
Mohan is currently the Regional Director-India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal, at Coca-Cola’s bottling arm, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd.
He had taken over this senior leadership role in April, when several key leadership changes were announced at Coca-Cola’s India and South West Asia business unit.
Prior to this role, he served as the Region Director for company-owned bottling businesses in Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar.
Mohan joined the company in 1998. He has held various senior leadership roles in operations, market execution and general management and has also served as the Vice-President-Sales for Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd.
Coca-Cola India spokesperson was not reachable for a comment. An e-mail sent to the company did not evince a reply.
The company, which has been focusing on its “total beverage” and “beverages for life” strategies, has been expanding its presence in segments such as locally-sourced fruit juices, ethnic flavours, dairy besides “beverage plus” products such as whipped frozen fruit desserts.
