Uttar Pradesh-based Dwarikesh Sugar Industries on Thursday reported a net loss of Rs 11.30 crore in the 2011-12 financial year ended September 30.
The company had reported a net loss of Rs 13.16 crore in the previous year (October—September), the Dwarikesh Sugar said in a filing to the BSE.
It suffered losses mainly due to increase in the cost of materials consumed and changes in inventories of finished goods, among others.
However, the company’s net sales remained higher at Rs 688.86 crore in 2011-12, as compared with Rs 584 crore in the previous year.
Dwarikesh Sugar has a combined capacity to crush 21,500 tonnes of sugarcane per day. Its shares rose to 4 per cent to close at Rs 48.15 on the BSE.
