Renewable energy company Greenko has acquired three run-of-the-river hydel power projects with installed capacity of 15 MW.
These hydel assets are located in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh.
With this acquisition, Greenko will now have installed capacity of 275 MW. The company is on course to installing 1,000 MW of renewable energy projects, including wind farms by 2015.
The company based in Hyderabad and listed on AIM of London Stock Exchange had in March 2012 announced the acquisition of 32 MW of a cluster of operating assets in Himachal Pradesh. It has now added another 15 MW through this buy out for euro 18.7 million (about Rs 130 crore).
Anil Chalamalasetty, CEO and MD of Greenko, said this is part of the strategy of adding assets in hydel power sector and providing a balanced portfolio of clean energy assets in India.
