Leading ready-mix concrete equipment maker Schwing Stetter India (SSI) has partnered with US-based Gomaco Corporation to enter into concrete paving industry in India.

Under the partnership, Schwing Stetter India will have the sales and service rights for Gomaco’s entire range of concrete paving products in the country, except for the state of Telangana, according to a statement.

“We are proud to be associating with Gomaco to offer their concrete paving products in India. This is a great opportunity for concreting all the roads in the country. We are pleased to join the world leader in this space to empower India with well-laid, concreted roads across India,” said Anand Sundaresan, Chairman, Schwing Stetter (India).

Indian Government plans to build 10,950 km road projects and 100 new concrete road projects. Also, the Government has set an ambitious target of increasing the contribution of manufacturing output to 25 per cent of GDP by 2025 from 16 per cent now.

SSI hopes the association with Gomaco will help the company tap the emerging potential in road sector.

“Concrete pavers have multiple applications like building roads for the national and state highways, airport runways, and canal lining and high speed rails, among others. Also, building concrete roads are cheaper, faster to build, long lasting and require minimum post construction maintenance costs,” said V G Sakthikumar, Managing Director, SSI.

Gomaco sees a right partner in Schwing Stetter India to sell its products due to latter’s strong presence in the concrete construction market in India for nearly 20 years.

“We have chosen Schwing Stetter to help lead our efforts in India because of their commitment to the customer, their attention to quality products, and excellence in service,” said Kent Godbersen, Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing, Gomaco Corporation.

SSI targets $10 million sales in India during its first year of association.
