The State-owned mining company Singareni Collieries Company Limited today held a meeting with Caterpillar Co, a supplier of Longwall equipment and provider of its services, seeking their support in enhancing the coal output from Adriyala Longwall Mine.

The Adriyala Longwall underground mine, located in Ramagundam, is one of the biggest investments made in a single mine in the country and Asia where about Rs 1200 crore was deployed.

At a meeting with Wolfgang Reissor, Director, Caterpiller Co, and Manvinder Bharat, Project Manager, at the Singareni Bhavan, the suppliers were informed that huge investments were made in the mine to meet the growing coal requirement for power plants and other users in the State.

Keeping in view the increasing demand for coal and the potential from the mine and the mining equipment capabilities, the SCCL management has called upon the suppliers to increase the output to 25 lakh tonnes during the current financial year.
