Taj GVK Hotels & Resorts Ltd today added Vivanta by Taj in Hyderabad and outlined plans to develop at least three more properties simultaneously in Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad, the latter to serve the Ginger brand.

The Managing Director of Taj GVK Hotels and Resorts, Ms G. Indira Krishna Reddy, said: “In the last eight years since we teamed up with the Taj Group, we have managed to double the overall strength of the hotel projects. We now have four properties in Hyderabad, one in Chennai and another in Chandigarh.”

“We are looking at growth cautiously, ensuring return on investments. The company has grown through an acquisitive approach in the past and is open to acquisitions. You may hear about buyouts,” she said after the launch of Vivanta in Hyderabad.

The company has had a long exclusive association with the Taj brand and expects to consolidate this association with the development of another property in Hyderabad under the Ginger brand near the international airport.

“We would also be developing properties in Mumbai and Bangalore,” she said.

“The entry of global brands into Hyderabad and markets where we are present augured well. We have carved a niche for ourselves and hope to build on that to cater to customers,” she explained.

The Chief Operating Officer of Vivanta by Taj, Mr Veer Vijay Singh, who was earlier associated with the management of all three properties in Hyderabad, said Vivanta brand is on rapid growth path since its launch in September 2010. It now has 23 properties and is set to add four more during the year.

Stating that every Vivanta property seeks to distinguish itself in a hospitality sector that is cluttered, Mr Singh said: “Even the fragrance in the Vivanta properties is distinct. We now have an inventory of 3,500 rooms and the number is poised to go up as more than a dozen properties are to be lined up by next year.”
