United Bank of India (UBI) reported a net loss of ₹1,238 crore in the third quarter ended December 31, 2013, against a net profit of ₹42 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
The net loss for the first nine months of this fiscal stood at ₹1,683 crore as against a net profit of ₹361 crore in the similar year-ago period.
The gross NPAs (non-performing assets) at the end of the third quarter was 10.82 per cent and net NPA, 7.44 per cent.
According to a review report, 30 branches of the bank account for 61.46 per cent of the non-performing assets.
