Kuwait’s low-cost airline Jazeera Airways has added Kochi as its third Indian destination by launching four weekly flights. The company had recently introduced services to Hyderabad and Ahmedabad.
The flights operate four days a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays departing at 8.55 pm from Kochi and arriving at 12.10 am in Kuwait. It will leave Kuwait at 12.45 pm reaching Kochi at 8.10 pm.
The company is looking at additional destinations in the Indian market.
Mumbai will be added shortly, for which discussions are going on with airport authorities, Andrew Ward, Vice-President (Marketing & Customer Experience), told reporters here on Wednesday.
He said the airline would work with Kerala Tourism in promoting destinations as well as medical tourism initiatives. Kochi, according to him, is a popular destination for tourism and medical visits and the company sees these as growing segments out of the Kuwait market.
In addition, the airline will offer a welcome choice to the VFR (Visiting Friends & Relatives) travellers wanting to connect with their families in both Kerala and Kuwait.
