Singapore's budget airline Tigerair has started direct flights from Singapore to Lucknow. The launch of the new service to Lucknow becomes the airline’s sixth destination in India. Tigerair will operate three weekly flights to the city.

Tigerair’s inaugural flight from Singapore-TR 2676 had landed at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport at 8 pm local time on Thursday.

As a launch promotion, Tigerair is offering Lucknow passengers a special return fare of Rs 10,999, available for purchase from December 4, 2015 to December 13, 2015, for travel between January 12, 2016 to April 14, 2016. Passengers can book the tickets on www.tigerair.com or from their nearest travel agent. Special fares have also been announced for the other Indian routes.

"We have been steadily growing our presence and expanding services to India in the past eight years," said Teh Yik Chuan, Sales and Marketing Director, Tigerair.

"With the launch of our sixth destination in India, we are extremely happy and excited to now service the Indian travellers in North India as well.”

Tigerair had started its service to Chennai in 2007, the carrier’s first point in India. Currenlty, it flies to four other Indian cities in South - Bengaluru, Tiruchi, Hyderabad and Kochi. The addition of the Lucknow route, will mark Tigerair’s foray into North India and the only airline in Lucknow to operate direct flights to Singapore.

Tigerair now operates 44 weekly flights to Singapore from six Indian destinations.

The airline also connects to Bali, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Perth, Taipei via Singapore, the gateway to amazing destinations in Asia Pacific and Connect to Sydney, Gold Coast and 11 more destinations with 50 weekly flights via Singapore in collaboration with Scoot.
