Cognizant Technology Solutions has committed $40 million (₹260 crore) for relief and rehabilitation of residents, its employees and business partners in Chennai hit by floods. This is the highest commitment so far by a company for flood relief.
The US-based company is one of Chennai’s largest employers with over 60,000 staff and 11 facilities. A sum of $10 million (₹65 crore) has been earmarked for the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund and NGOs.
