Intex Technologies, a leading mobile handset player, is all set to introduce 25 new models in the market during the next quarter, Vishal Malik, the company's Retail Head has said.

Of this new models, 16 handsets would be in smart phone category while the remaining are feature phones. The company is also expected to mop up an additional ₹520 crore revenue in the coming quarter following the launch of the new models, he told reporters here on Thursday.

He was in Kochi to unveil the fast charging smart phone model – Aqua S3 – in the Kerala market. The company, he said, has chalked out aggressive plans to garner a significant market share from the State.

According to him, the penetration of 4G network would further increase the usage of smart phones in the country. In the mobile phone sales, 60 per cent constitutes feature phones while the rest is in smart phone category. With fast changing technology, the company foresee a growth in smart phone category, he said adding that majority of smart phone sales is in the range of ₹4,000-8,000.

To give more visibility to its products, the company has also plans to open 25 more brand shops across the country from the present 125 for displaying all of its product categories comprising LED TV's, AC's, refrigerators etc.
