NCR Corporation is going to move its research and development centre in Hyderabad to a new facility at the Raheja Mindspace.

The facility, which will be located in a hub that houses top global and Indian multi-national companies, will be ready early 2017. One of the biggest centres for NCR in India, it will act as a hub for the development of solutions for its global operations.

The firm offers omni-channel solutions, enabling more than 550 million transactions daily in retail, financial, travel, hospitality, telecom and technology sectors.

Hyderabad is a major development centre for the firm. Started off with 50 engineers, the facility houses over 800 employees working on technology solutions for financial, retail and hospitality industries. Besides, it has 125 consultants that supported customer deployment services. It would develop solutions that power self-service applications such as the Interactive Teller ATM, mobile cash withdrawals and mobile check deposits.

“As we continue to build out our innovative, omni-channel architecture, the Hyderabad facility will play an important role as a strategic global centre for software development,” Eli Rosner, senior vice-president and chief technology officer for software solutions at NCR Corp, said in a statement on Thursday.

“Our new R&D centre will continue to invest in talent to create a robust innovation pipeline to change the way consumers connect, interact and transact with businesses,” Ashok Nallam, Head of R&D Centre (NCR India) said.
