Qualcomm Inc, semiconductor design and telecom equipment firm, has tied up with Hyderabad-based digital products firm Smartron India. The two firms signed a 3G and 4G patent licence agreement. “Under the terms of this agreement, Qualcomm has granted Smartron a royalty-bearing patent licence to develop, manufacture and sell WCDMA, CDMA2000, and 4G LTE complete devices,” Qualcomm has said in a statement.
