Marketing automation platform Wigzo Technologies, which recently raised funds from a clutch of VC firms including Aarin Capital, 3one4 Capital and advantEdge among others, is mulling a global expansion.
As part of its global plans, the company has entered into a partnership with Magento, one of the largest open-source e-commerce platform globally. With this, Wigzo becomes Magento’s first technology partner from India. Wigzo’s founder and CEO, Umair Mohammed, told BusinessLine that, “One of the most in demand features of our dashboard is the Web Push Notifications, which have become a major sales and retention channel for some of our clients. We think our partnership with Magento will give us the opportunity to present Web push as the fastest growing channel to their customers.”
Web push notifications are the fastest growing engagement and retention channel for businesses today, he said, adding that Wigzo is making web push personalisation possible.
Key hiresMohammed further added that the company has also made some key hires as part of its global strategy. Wigzo has hired Hetal Sonpal as its COO.
Sonpal, with over 18 years of experience, comes from Intel. She has also worked with companies such as LinkedIn, Microsoft and Wipro.
As part of the global business plan, Wigzo has identified Australia, Japan, Indonesia and West Asia for their first phase of growth following which it will target the other markets.
Personalisation is the only way for brands to focus on consumers and be relevant to them, Mohammed said and added that Wigzo provides a comprehensive set of tools built for marketers that enables a machine-intelligence driven personalised campaign thus touching a consumer across various channels such as email, mobile and web pages.
