Only 50 per cent of the turmeric bags were sold at Erode markets as only medium and poor quality produce arrived for sale. Regarding the price, the finger variety decreased by ₹50-75 a quintal and the root variety lost ₹50. At the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association, the finger turmeric was sold at ₹5,565-8,800 a quintal; the root variety at ₹5,235-7,899. Of the arrival of 3,322 bags, 1,669 were traded.
