Extended gains in domestic and overseas futures lifted edible oil prices in spot on Tuesday. . The volume was higher and about 2,500-3000 tonnes of edible oils were sold during the day in physical markets, sources said.

On the Bombay Commodity Exchange, imported palmolein rose by ₹2, while soyabean and sunflower refined oil ruled steady. Groundnut and rapeseed oil increased by ₹10 and ₹7 for 10 kg each. Cotton refined oil declined by ₹2. Sources said that tracking firm opening of the Malaysian palm oil futures, local refineries increased their rates for palm oil by ₹6-7. Mumbai-based refineries sold about 500-700 tonnes of palmolein at ₹610, while resellers offloaded 400-500 tonnes at ₹606-607. Ruchi sold about 750-800 tonnes of soyabean refined oil and 250-300 tonnes of sunflower refined oil at ₹660. Allana sold about 250-300 tonnes of sunflower oil at ₹659 and 300-350 tonnes soyabean refined oil at ₹662.

Liberty quoted palmolein at ₹612, super palmolein ₹632 and soyabean refined oil ₹665. Ruchi quoted palmolein ₹612, soyabean refined oil ₹660 and sunflower refined oil ₹660. Allana was quoting palmolein at ₹611, soyabean refined oil ₹662 and sunflower refined oil ₹659. At Rajkot, groundnut oil Telia tin was ₹1,130 (₹1,130) and loose (10 kg) was ₹720 (₹720).

Malaysia BMD crude palm oil’s May futures settled higher at MYR 2,730 (MYR 2,695), June MYR 2,696 (MYR 2,655) and July MYR 2,683 (MYR 2,642).
