The price of copra and coconut oil has decreased at Erode markets. “On Monday, coconut oil fetched ₹1,090-1,100 for 15-kg pack. Few quantities were sold. Copra, which fetched ₹5,000-5,100 a quintal last week, is now selling at ₹4,950-5,050. Even for such lower price, there is limited demand from oil crushers and stockists as they feel the price may fall further,” said RM Palanisamy, a trader. The edible copra was sold at ₹6,000 a quintal; palm oil went for ₹5,550.
