Prices of poultry-feed increased this week following an uptrend in prices of key ingredients over the last few days. Higher input costs have resulted in higher feed prices, said Aditya Mishra, a trade expert. Dearer soyameal mainly pushed prices up, he said. Prices of feed products have increased by ₹15-60 for a 50-kg bag.
Traders said that if soyameal continues to witness the uptrend, feed prices may increase further in the coming days.
In the physical market, soyameal moved up by ₹1,400 and sold at ₹41,600 a tonne, while bajra went up by ₹300 and sold at ₹13,700 a quintal.
Di-calcium phosphate went up by 10 paisa and was at ₹36.80 a kg while maize sold at ₹1,540 a quintal. DRB improved by ₹500 and sold for ₹9,500, rice bran oil ruled flat at ₹55 a kg, MBM was at ₹44 while mustard de-oiled cake was at ₹15,600 a tonne, ₹300 down.
Feed productsPrices of layer concentrate 25 per cent and layer concentrate 35 per cent went up by ₹15 each and sold at ₹1,535 and at Rs 1,215 respectively.
Broiler concentrate improved ₹60 and was quoted at ₹2,175 for a 50-kg bag.
Poultry ProductsMeanwhile, an uptrend was witnessed in the poultry products market on Wednesday. Broiler improved by ₹7 and was at ₹59 a-kg, egg went up by 12 paisa and was at ₹2.46, while chick went for ₹10 unchanged.
