Spot rubber was mixed on Wednesday. The most active counter RSS 4 improved following reports that Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will meet major tyre companies on Thursday in an effort to help increase the price of domestic natural rubber. Growers also expect the State government to waive the 5 per cent purchase tax on natural rubber. RSS 4 improved to ₹115.50 (₹115) a kg, according to traders.

The grade was quoted steady at ₹114.50 (₹114.50) and ₹111.50 (₹111.50) respectively, by the Rubber Board and dealers. January futures firmed up to ₹116.02 (₹113.71) February to ₹117 (₹114.69) and March to ₹118.59 (₹115.98) on the National Multi Commodity Exchange. RSS 3 (spot) closed at ₹104.12 (₹102.53) at Bangkok. December futures closed at ¥181.6 (₹98.71) on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange.
