Pepper markets continued to stay sluggish on Tuesday for want of sellers and buyers. Demand from upcountry also continued to remain slow. Arrivals stood at three tonnes and they were traded.

Primary market dealers in growing regions said there is a slowdown in buying activities because of financial constraints they are facing, of late, due to non-receipt of payments from the buyers. Spot prices remained steady at previous levels. Export prices also stayed unchanged at $12,450 a tonne (c&f) for the Europe and $12,700 for the US.
