The pepper markets remained steady on Tuesday on matching demand and supply. Whatever material arrived at the market was absorbed by the buyers, i.e., Inter-state dealers. Exporters were on a wait and watch mode. On the terminal market 26 tonnes from the high ranges, Wayand district, plains and re-processors were traded at prices ₹685, ₹690, ₹695 and ₹700 a kg, market sources told Business Line . Spot prices remained unchanged at ₹68,400 (ungarbled) and ₹71,400 (garbled) a quintal. December, January and February futures on the IPSTA platform also stayed steady at ₹73,000, ₹63,500 and ₹57,000 a quintal respectively. Indian export prices were at $10,900 a tonne c&f for Europe and $11,150 a tonne c&f for USA following weakening of the rupee against the dollar.
