Aditya Birla Nuvo has shut down its ammonia manufacturing plant at Jagdishpur, Uttar Pradesh, the company said in a notice. The unit will remain shut until the first week of April. The move follows the company’s output reaching the government prescribed limit of 990,000 tonne. Under the government’s pricing mechanism for ammonia, the company can avail themselves reimbursement on its fuel costs if it produces within the prescribed limit. The company said it will carry out maintenance work during the shutdown. Shares of Aditya Birla Nuvo slipped 0.27 per cent at ₹1,724 on the NSE.
