Gujarat Pipavav Port has received approval from the Ministry of Environment & Forests for its expansion plan. The earlier approval (on June 5, 2012) was challenged by an NGO in the National Green Tribunal, which through its order on August 22, 2013 kept the clearance in abeyance for six months. After an Expert Appraisal Committee reviewed the expansion plan and recommended its approval, MoEF gave its final clearance. The stock on Friday jumped 2.69 per cent at ₹70.5 on the BSE.
