The stock of Jaiprakash Power Ventures crashed 7 per cent in early trade on Tuesday to Rs 38.65 after Jaypee Infra Ventures (a private limited company with unlimited liability) sold about 3.6 crore shares through open market.
At the end of September, it was holding 18.55 crore shares in the company.
The stock touched a low of Rs 37.50 and a high of Rs 41.50. On the BSE, 2.367 crore shares changed hands while on the NSE 1.21 crore shares changed hands.
According to media reports, Jaypee Infra plans to sell 5 crore shares today.
