Vedanta sailed up nearly 3 per cent to emerge the top gainer on the NSE at the close on Thursday. It finished the day with gains of 2.69 per cent at Rs 196.75 as against Rs 191.60 at close yesterday.
Tata Motors also built on its recent momentum to drive up gains of 2.67 per cent at Rs 484.35, as against its overnight close at Rs 471.75.
BPCL flared up 2.61 per cent at Rs 817.70. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 796.90.
Infosys built on its morning gains to quote at Rs 2,016.6. This represented a gain of 2.44 per cent on its Wednesday close at Rs 1,968.50.
PNB jumped up 1.96 per cent at Rs 156.25. The share had finished Wednesday’s session at Rs 153.25.
