Pharma shares were the predominant gainers on the NSE on Thursday. But it was FMCG player Hindustan Unilever that led the pack on the bourse. At 12.30 pm it held gains of 2.46 per cent to trade at Rs 938.60. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 916.10.
Lupin perked up 1.88 per cent at Rs 1,820.80 as against Rs 1,787.25 at close yesterday.
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries gained 1.75 per cent to trade at Rs 1,023.95. The share closed the previous session at Rs 1,006.30.
Dr Reddy’s Labs moved up 1.40 per cent at Rs 3,437.95 as against Rs 3,390.45 at close yesterday.
Wipro also traded on a firm note, notching up gains of 1.23 per cent at Rs 667.60. The share had ended the previous session at Rs 659.50.
The benchmark indices the Sensex and the Nifty slipped into the red in the early afternoon session on profit-booking and amid weak global cues, The Sensex was down 50 points to trade around the 29,330 level, while the Nifty was down by 25 points near the 8,900 level.
