Asset management company Quantum is launching an open-ended debt fund named Dynamic Bond Fund on Wednesday. The new fund offer closes on May 13 and then reopens on May 25. The fund seeks to generate income and capital appreciation through active management of portfolio consisting of short- and long-term debt and money market instruments. Murthy Nagarajan, Head — Fixed Income, Quantum AMC, who will manage the fund, said the AMC does not want to assume credit risk by investing in private sector debt. “We only want to take a call on interest rates,” Nagarajan said. “With the volatile equity market and high interest rates, we believe this is the most favourable time for investors to invest in the dynamic bond fund.”
