Tata Motors held on to most of its gains on the BSE by the close on Tuesday. At 3.15 p.m. the stock was trading at Rs 373.85, up 2.71 per cent on its earlier close of Rs 364.
Tata Steel edged up further to trade at Rs 388.15, a gain of 1.48 per cent on its overnight close of Rs 382.50.
ONGC made rapid gains to trade at Rs 275.75, up 1.38 per cent on its previous close of Rs 272.
HDFC traded up 1.10 per cent to quote at Rs 774.65 as against Monday's close of Rs 766.20.
Private sector lender ICICI Bank was trading at Rs 969.50. This represented a 1.04 per cent gain on its overnight close of Rs 959.55.
