Arvind Sethi has been appointed as the Managing Director and CEO of Tata Asset Management, the mutual fund arm of the Tata Group, with effect from December 10, 2012.

Sethi, who is now an independent director on the board of Tata Asset Management, takes over from Sanjay Sachdev, who exited his post last week.

Sethi is the managing partner of CAPM Consulting, which is active in conducting training courses for bankers and financial executives among others.

He was also on the RBI’s technical advisory committee on foreign exchange and bond markets. He was one of the key people whose efforts resulted in the founding of FIMMDA and he was its Chairman in 1999 and 2000.
