Anticipating large footfall on Diwali, Delhi Metro has decided to revise the timing of the last train service tomorrow to 10 p.m. from the earlier time of 8 p.m.
“DMRC Managing Director Mangu Singh, in view of the larger public interest, has decided to revise timings of the last train service on Diwali to 10 p.m. from the earlier time of 8 p.m.,” Executive Director (Corporate Communications) Anuj Dayal said.
The last Metro train service will now start at 10 p.m. tomorrow from the terminal stations of all Metro Lines, including Airport Express Line (Dilshad Garden, Rithala, Jahangir Puri, Huda City Centre, Noida City Centre, Dwarka Sector-21, Vaishali, Kirti Nagar, Inderlok, Mundka, Central Secretariat, Mandi House, Badarpur and New Delhi & Dwarka Sec-—21 Metro stations of Airport Express Line).
Metro train services will run as usual for rest of the day on Diwali from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
From 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., trains on all lines will run with a frequency of about 30 minutes and thereafter, the last train service will be at 10 p.m. from the terminal stations of all lines instead of the normal time of 11 p.m., Dayal said.
Previously, the last Metro train services started at 8 p.m. from terminal stations. but this year the DMRC MD has decided to keep the service open up to 10 p.m. In case there is sufficient passenger movement during this extended period on Diwali tomorrow, then the timings may continue to be extended in the coming years also.
