Bookmycab.com has launched a mobile application (app) on android phones to enable instant bookings for black and yellow cabs on the go, making the process even more convenient for customers.
The Mumbai-based call-taxi service company has more than 3,000 taxis registered in the city that cover the entire Mumbai metropolitan region.
The customer will be able to use the app without Internet connection too. "Just Hit SEND when the app prompts. ‘Not connected to the Internet. Use SMS to book a cab.’ and you are done. You will receive booking details and confirmation over SMS. You can book a cab for your friend, family member with different phone number with the same app," the company said in a statement.
Bookmycab.com CEO Avinash Gupta said: “We have just made the regular black and yellow cabs and AC cool cabs more accessible for the people of Mumbai. They can now book cabs on the go. We are proud to announce that we are perhaps the first taxi company globally to launch an app that works without Internet and this should help ease the transportation problems of Mumbaikars.’’
The company’s aim is to deliver a taxi at customer’s doorsteps within 10 to 20 minutes across Mumbai. This is made possible with the help of technology which is an asset for the company.
The service runs for 24 hours uses the GPS/GPRS enabled real time tracking technology in all its taxis to ensure timely availability and passenger safety.
When customer makes a call for booking a taxi the contact centre executive asks for a pick-up point and the destination which is passed to the taxi dispatch system (TDS). The system instantly locates nearby taxis, sends trip information and on approval from the taxi drivers sends confirmation note to the customers, the company statement said.
Bookmycab’s mobile booking app is available for Android devices, and can easily be downloaded from their Web site free-of-cost. Using this app you can book a cab within seconds with 24x7 telephone support on 022 61234567.
